Core Aeration

Relief for compacted, heavily used ground.

The diagnosis

If water sits, if the ground feels like pavement in August, if turf thins along every path: that is compaction. Roots need air and pathways. Aeration is the honest, mechanical fix: pull cores, open the profile, let the lawn breathe.

Method & materials

Mechanical core removal lets water, air, and nutrients reach the root zone again.

This is equipment work: a core aerator that pulls real plugs, not spikes that squeeze the soil tighter. Cores stay on the lawn and melt back in. Aeration pairs naturally with top dressing; the holes take the material exactly where it does the most good.

What to expect after

Cores disappear within a couple of weeks. Water well after the pass. Aeration is the one service on this list worth repeating on a schedule: once a year for hard-used lawns keeps compaction from ever winning again.

Common questions

How much does lawn leveling cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the lawn, the amount of material required, access, and the severity of the unevenness. Request a quote for an accurate estimate. It only takes a few minutes.
What is top dressing?
Top dressing is the application of a thin layer of material across the lawn to help smooth the surface and improve soil conditions.
Can you fix a severely bumpy lawn?
In many cases, yes. The best approach depends on the severity of the problem and may include leveling, grading, top dressing, or full lawn renovation.
